Kate Scott is a real estate developer dedicated to rethinking the way we design and deliver buildings for today’s sustainable cities. She has more than 25 years’ experience developing projects worldwide across all sectors. She has led billions of dollars in acquisitions, entitlements and ground-up development. An entrepreneur at heart, Kate has worked with several early stage real estate start-ups entering the construction space, including years leading a large R&D team to study the future of co-living. She drives for efficient processes and sustainable systems in order to deliver higher quality product faster and cheaper.

Kate has launched two real estate development companies from the bottom-up. As Senior Director for development at WeWork, Kate launched a real estate arm, deploying $100M in capital for the acquisition of six sites totaling 6MSF development opportunity. The goal: revitalize an urban downtown. Most recently, Kate was hired as the first employee at Nabr, a sustainable, urban housing startup co-founded by Bjarke Ingels, Roni Bahar and Nick Chim. As a member of the founding team, Kate led go-to-market strategies and supply chain partnerships for interiors real estate product, in addition to overseeing interdisciplinary teams to analyze new development opportunities. This work builds on more than a decade of experience leading award-winning projects from concept through realization at Bernard Tschumi Architects and HWKN.

Kate earned an Honors BA from Brown University and Masters degrees in Architecture and Urban Planning from Columbia University. She is a registered architect in the state of NY. She previously worked as an editor, writer and producer developing online education content for leading educational institutions in Europe and the US. Kate was born and raised in Canada and holds three passports, though she has lived in Brooklyn for over 25 years.
